This policy explains how Random Character Generator handles information when you use the site.

Local character generation and browser storage

Basic character generation runs in your browser. Favorites, recent generations, and recent backstories may be stored in localStorage on the current device. This information is not synchronized to an account. Clearing browser data removes it and it cannot be recovered by us.

Optional AI features

When you actively use AI enhancement or the backstory generator, the minimum necessary character facts and custom request are sent through our server to Evolink.ai for processing. Do not enter passwords, identity documents, private addresses, telephone numbers, medical records, or other sensitive personal information. We do not intentionally create a database of raw prompts or complete AI results.

Security and rate-limit data

To control abuse and cost, the service may store short-lived counters based on a hashed anonymous visitor identifier and a hashed IP address. Plain-text IP addresses, full cookies, authorization headers, raw prompts, and complete AI outputs are not included in application analytics logs.

Analytics

If Google Analytics is enabled, the site records events such as generation, copying, downloading, saving, and AI success or failure. Event parameters do not include character names, custom notes, backstories, or other full text supplied by the user.

Third parties and retention

Vercel may process network and deployment data required to serve the site. Evolink.ai processes text only when an AI feature is requested. Google may process analytics data when analytics is enabled. Each provider operates under its own terms and privacy practices. Operational counters are retained only as long as necessary for their rate-limit window, while aggregate non-text usage metrics may be retained for product analysis.
